About this site
Knowledge is the focal point of rct.org and rct.dk
With the new website solution RCT wishes to contribute to the
global work against torture and organized violence through sharing
of knowledge and experience. The target groups are professionals,
including researchers, health professionals and human rights actors
working with the rehabilitation of torture survivors and the
prevention of torture worldwide. Among others, the aim has
been to ensure a more dynamic, relevant and accessible content.
Also RCT will make an effort to make available knowledge thoroughly
tested and based on research, practical and clinical experience.
Hopefully, many professionals worldwide doing an important job in
the fight against torture will make use of this knowledge.

With the launch of the new web solution RCT wants to manifest
itself as an international knowledge centre. RCT has been around
for almost 30 years and was the first centre of its kind in the
world. Today the centre is unique in having both rehabilitation,
research and international development work under one roof. The
centre also houses a unique research library and documentation
centre, which throughout the years has collected publications and
knowledge about rehabilitation, torture and related issues. The
website solution must ensure that this information is now made
available to a broader audience.
In short , some of the new initiatives are:
- Better accessibility when it comes to services from the
Documentation Centre
- Thematic user entrance points
- Related content cross cutting the webpages, and content with
greater news value
- Subscription options, e.g. news lists (RSS) and
newsletters
- Easier interaction, e.g. comment boxes
- Easier access to contact info on professional experts and
staff
