Scientific focus areas
The overarching focus of my research and practice over the last 25 years has been the development of methods for healing of trauma for survivors of war, and politically and gender related human rights violations.

2012 -
Member of research group: "Transitional Justice and Livelihood in Post-Conflict Societies", University of Oslo.

2011 -
Cooperation with research project: "Trying to get it 'just' Right: the Khmer Rouge Tribunal and Social Healing in Cambodia", conducted by Dr. Alexandra Kent, U. of Gothenburg & Nordic Institute for Asian Studies (NIAS).

2010 -
Cooperation with research project: "Dealing with the past. Victims' experiences of transitional justice in Argentina and Peru", conducted by Dr. Nora Sveaass, University of Oslo and Anne-Margrethe Sonneland, Diakonhjemmet University College, Oslo.

2010 -
Cooperation with Transcultural Psychosocial Organisation - Cambodia in relation to my research project in Cambodia: " Symbolic Reparations for Victims of Human Rights Violations in Cambodia: Exploring Approaches to Healing of Violence- Related Trauma in Cambodia", funded by the Danish Council for Independent Research (FKK).

2009 -
Membe r of Steering Committee, for international research project: "Trauma, develop ment and peace building: Towards an integrated approach", U n i v e r s i t y of Ulster, Internat ional Conflict Research Institute (INCORE) & United Nations University. Funded by International Development and Research Centre (IDRC), Canada.

2008 - 2 010
Action research project on the development of "Testimonial Therapy" in cooperation with human rights organizations in India, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and the Philippines.
