MSc. International Development Studies & Geography, Ph.D
Fellow International Development Studies Roskilde University.
I have worked for RCT since 2005. Initially I worked for the
International department as a project coordinator for Albania and
West Africa. The work was to develop and manage project
cooperation with local partners on documentation and prevention of
torture and violence. Since 2008 I have mainly been affiliated to
the research department as a Ph.D fellow, though I have continued
to work with West Africa. I work on politics in Bangladesh.
My research explores how young people are mobilized into party
political violent organizations and seek to address how and why
these young people are recruited and participate in the
organizational activities. The research tells us about the young
peoples motivations and aspirations by investigating
their reasons to join the organizations. The research
illuminates the interconnectedness of practices between the
mobilizing organizations and mainstream political party's and
focus on the ways in which political networks permeate the state
and the state apparatus at all levels which determines widespread
human rights violations and the organized violence.
