European Master's in Human Rights and Democratization (University of Padua, Italy); Master of Arts in Italian Language and Literature (Middlebury College/University of Florence); Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (Columbia University, NYC, USA)

Key qualifications

Twelve years working experience in human rights, including in research and training institutes, non-governmental organizations and international organizations with a variety of functions;
Several years experience as external assessor of human rights, democratization and development education projects for the European Commission, including within rehabilitation and prevention of torture;
Experience in field missions with OSCE in the Balkans, including management of regional human rights team comprised of 19 national and international staff;
In-depth knowledge of human rights law, with a focus on European regional instruments, mechanisms and actors;
Long-term teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate level in human rights and related issues (human trafficking, public international law) in several countries, including: Italy, Denmark (DIS), Belgium, Sweden (Malmö Högskola);
Established Brussels office of a major anti-torture organization;
Editorial/publications experience within human rights/rule of law, including key Nordic texts on UDHR (Kluwer Law, 1999) and on good governance and human rights;
Technical training on LFA, project cycle management
